KASHMIR, India (AhlulBayt News Agency) – Independent legislator from Langate area of north Kashmir Engineer Rashid on Tuesday criticized the PDP-BJP government for not opposing the visit of Israeli regime Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who is currently in India.

The legislator, while addressing J&K assembly in winter capital Jammu, stated that government of India was adopting a ‘deceitful policy’ visa vis Palestine and Netanyahu’s visit to India has hurt sentiments of billions of muslims across the globe.

“On one hand New Delhi supported Palestine issue in United Nations and in not time, it is now embracing Israeli politician with open arms. Mr Modi is breaking all protocols for hugging Netanyahu,” Rashid said in the assembly. He said that the PDP should have convinced its coalition partner BJP in the state and also prevailed upon New Delhi to stop this visit.

BJP’s state president Sat Sharma, quickly interrupted Rashid’s speech, suggesting him not to intervene in foreign policy and maintain focus on issues of the state. And Rashid continued saying, “this house runs on the directions of New Delhi” also because his two resolutions regarding article 35 (A) and instrument of accession were not admitted by the speaker earlier.

“New Delhi has been serving Kheer to Kashmiris on Bata sandals rather than plates, who will eat that,” Rashid asked.

The north Kashmir legislator, who was recently questioned by the NIA as well, also raised alarm over the recent press conference of four judges of Supreme Court, saying, “This is why we questioned the hanging of Afzal Guru. Today, judges themselves are on the street.”

When he raised the issue of backdoor appointments accusing ruling PDP and opposition National Conference of indulging in illegal job engagements in the government, verbal brawl ensued between him and a senior NC legislator Muhammad Akbar Lone.

The deputy speaker Nazir Gurezi, also from NC, directed the marshals in the assembly to push Rashid out of the house. Marshals thrashed Rashid badly, who then decided to boycott rest of the session. “They treat elected representatives as criminals. Where else would you express yourself in a democracy?” Rashid said outside the assembly complex.
